New patient policy

Category A: Prompt appointments as soon as possible are made for:

People Living with HIV and/or Hepatitis B who have recently moved to Victoria or do not currently have a doctor managing their HIV/Hepatitis B.

People in need of HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) or requiring acute STI management.

Children (under the age of 18) of existing patients.

If you fit Criteria A above, please contact our reception team who will advise on appointment availability.

Category B: Next available new patient appointments are made for:

Members of the LGBTIQA+ community.

People requiring sexual health care, or those with a referral from another doctor

Partners of existing patients.

People with a residential address in North Fitzroy.

Unfortunately we are not currently able to take on new Criteria B patients.

Transfer of medical information

Once you become a patient at Northside Clinic, we can request your medical records be transferred from your previous GP with your permission. This ensures that we have a comprehensive history of your health and any specific conditions, illnesses, test results and medications.

Change of patient details

If any of your personal details change or require updating, we request you complete the Change of Patient Details form. This can include change of name, address, contact number, email address or next of kin.

Third party consent

If you wish to nominate someone to make, change, or cancel appointments on your behalf, please complete the 3rd Party Consent to Appointments Form and return to the clinic.
