Holly (They/Them) is a part of the BodyFit Northcote team and will be providing a neuroaffirming gender affirming trauma informed physio service from Northside on Tuesday afternoons.
Holly graduated from their Doctor of Physiotherapy in 2019 and has worked in private practice treating both musculoskeletal and neurological conditions ever since. It was their first experience of being a gymnast and love of science that sparked their interest in becoming a physiotherapist.
Holly has lived experience with hypermobility which created a passion for treating connective tissue disorders such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder. They also have a special interest in LGBTQIA+ health, especially for those who are transgender and gender diverse. This includes issues such as binder-related pain and disfunction as well as creating a safe and inclusive environment for treatment. Their passion for LGBTQIA+ health drove them to assist in the establishment of the Australian Physiotherapy Association’s LGBTQIA+ advisory committee.
Holly uses a collaborative approach to physiotherapy using exercise therapy, manual therapy, and education to assist clients to achieve their goals and participate in activities they enjoy. Additionally, they are knowledgeable regarding mental illness and the intersections with physical health, and chronic diseases.
Outside of work, Holly can be found crocheting, watching Grey’s Anatomy and hanging out with their two ginger cats Emma and Isla.
Holly is very excited to be consulting at Northside Clinic. Being a part of the BodyFit Northcote team, means they also have the option to bring clients to their clinic if appropriate, where they have a fabulous Pilates and gym space.
