YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED WE SOMETIMES RUN LATE......

Being late is annoying for patients and stressful for our doctors and staff.

We are keen to fix this. One of the problems is that our consultations are running over time. Just 4 extra minutes per consultation means that the doctor is 1 hour late at the end of the morning!

You can help by.......

  • Being aware that your time with the doctor will be about 10 - 13 minutes
  • Being understanding if the doctor suggests you come back to address remaining issues (perhaps make a list if you have multiple issues to discuss)
  • Understanding that a brief appointment is for really urgent / 'can't wait' conditions on the day, and deal only with that one urgent problem.

Prescribing Alprazolam at Northside

‚ÄčIn 2014, Alprazolam became a schedule 8 drug, GPs at this clinic are not willing to continue to provide scripts previously commenced by a psychiatrist unless the psychiatrist feels that the patient fulfils the PBS requirements of a diagnosis of Panic Disorder.  It is, however the preference of the GPs at this clinic that the psychiatrist who initiated the Alprazolam hold the permit and continue to prescribe the Alprazolam.
