Dr Richard Moore
Richard has been working as a GP since 1986. In 1995, while working at the Carlton Clinic, he developed a special interest in treating HIV and STDs. This has remained a large part of his practice. He works at Northside Clinic 4 days per week and also consults at Melbourne Sexual Health Centre and at The Alfred Hospital. Richard is also interested in transgender health, antenatal care and paediatrics. He is accredited for shared antenatal care of patients with Royal Women’s Hospital and Mercy Hospital.

Dr Cate Sheppard
Cate Sheppard graduated in the late 20th century from Monash University. She initially trained in General Practice but soon developed an interest in sexual health medicine and vulval dermatology. Over the years she has worked for Carlton Clinic, Family Planning Australia, Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, Freemasons Womens Health Clinic and Victorian AIDS Council. Cate completed her training as a Sexual Health Physician in 2007. She enjoys the mixture of clinical general practice and sexual health medicine.

Dr Ruth McNair
Ruth has worked as a GP since 1993 in Bacchus Marsh, Melton, the Northern Territory, the Aboriginal Health Service in Fitzroy and Deer Park Women’s Prison. She worked at Carlton Clinic from 1998 until helping to establish Northside Clinic in 2009. She has obtained Diplomas of obstetrics and gynaecology, and anaesthetics (in the UK), and has a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She completed a PhD in lesbian and bisexual women’s health in 2009. She has clinical interests in women’s health including lesbian and bisexual women’s health, transgender health, mental health and wellbeing, adolescent health, fertility and pregnancy care, and is accredited as an antenatal shared care provider. Ruth works at Northside clinic one and a half days a week. She also works half-time as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, teaching medical students and conducting research. She is also the Chairperson of the Victorian Ministerial Advisory Committee on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex Health and Wellbeing, having been a member since the inaugural committee in 2000.

Dr Jeff Willcox
Jeff Willcox is one of the 5 owner-directors of Northside Clinic. He studied medicine at Monash University and has been working as a GP since 1991. He has worked for 15 years in Melbourne’s inner north including 7 years at Carlton Clinic where he developed his interest in gay men’s health, sexual health and HIV. He is a registered prescriber of HIV medications. He also has an interest in Hepatitis and other infectious diseases, travel medicine and transgender health..

Dr Kelvin Adams
Kelvin has been working as a doctor since 1998. He has worked in hospital medicine in Melbourne and Darwin, as well as two and half years spent working throughout the U.K. including London. He has previously spent time working in isolated aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory and has worked in general practice in Castlemaine and at the Carlton Clinic before being involved in the set up of the new Northside Clinic.
He is an S100 prescriber of HIV medication and has an interest in sexual health, gay and lesbian health, HIV medicine and men’s health. He has travelled widely and also has an interest in travel medicine and infectious diseases and is certified to administer Mantoux testing and BCG vaccinations for Tuberculosis.
His practical skills include insertion and removal of Implanon, skin excisions and minor procedures, and joint, tendon & bursal injections.

Dr Jonathan Anderson
Dr Jonathan Anderson is on indefinite leave. He is currently residing and working in the UK.

Dr Catherine Lazaroo
Catherine completed her undergraduate training in Western Australia, and spent her elective term as a medical student in Sialkot, North East Pakistan, in a TB hospital. Following her internship, her work experiences included 12 months as a medical registrar, including HIV/Immunology; and 12 months each at a palliative care hospice and the Princess Margaret Children’s Hospital. In the mid 1990’s she was also a volunteer for the WA AIDS Council, and helped run a house of welcome for Aboriginal women in East Perth. She has been a general practitioner in inner city locations in Perth and Sydney as well as Melbourne.
Her post-graduate education includes a Master’s in Public Health and Tropical Medicine at James Cook University, the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and a PhD in which creative arts and narrative practices were explored as a way of restoring ‘community of memory’ amongst older Chinese Timorese refugees. Her interests in general practice include sexual health, paediatrics, and supportive counseling. In the other parts of her life, she is a mother of two young children, is a playwright in the independent theatre scene, and has a Masters in Writing from the Australian Television and Radio School.

Dr Thai Lim
Thai initially trained at the Monash University Pharmacy Faculty and worked as a Pharmacist prior becoming a General Practitioner. He completed his medical degree at University of QLD and did his training at Royal Brisbane Hospital, Royal Children's Hospital and The Alfred Hospital. He developed an interest in sexual health whilst working a Carlton Clinic, however he enjoys all aspects of General Practice including family health, paediatrics and HIV/ Gay Men's health. He speaks several languages including Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien and Cantonese. Thai received his Fellowship in General Practice in 2006.

Dr Chris Sherman
Chris Sherman joined the team at the Carlton Clinic in 2007, and then made the move to the Northside clinic in 2009. He developed an interest in sexual health while working at Sydney Sexual Health Centre as a General Practice Trainee. Chris received his Fellowship in General Practice in 2008. His interest in sexual health has lead him to undertake a Masters of Public Health in 2010 and he is also a trainee in the College of Physicians Sexual Health Chapter. Previously he worked for a year in the Sydney Childrens’ Hospital and trained in Critical Care and Emergency Medicine.
Chris is a current member of the Australasian Society of HIV Medicine and an s100 medication prescriber. Chris swims with the Glamourhead Sharks and has a Diploma in Music for the violin.

Dr Gini Skinner
Gini is an experienced GP with a strong interest in the quality of her patient’s care. She has a particular interest and experience in travel medicine and in sexual health. She is a HIV medication prescriber and has an interest in managing HIV. Her previous experience includes working at Carlton Clinic and working in Singapore as a family physician. She also works at Travel Doctor/TMVC in Melbourne.

Dr Lisa Cochrane (previously Derigo)
Lisa graduated in Medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2003 and began working in General Practice in 2007.
She became interested in Sexual Health while working at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre as a GP registrar.
Lisa spends one day a week conducting research looking into young people's knowledge of chlamydia and is currently completing a Masters in Applied and Professional Ethics at the University of Melbourne. Her interest in applied ethics allowed Lisa to travel to Geneva in 2009 to complete an internship in the Ethics Department of the World Health Organization.

Dr Pauline Cundill
Pauline graduated from Southampton University, England in 1995 and moved to Melbourne in 1997. She practiced hospital medicine throughout Melbourne and Perth for seven years, before choosing to specialise in General Practice in 2004.
Pauline has worked as a GP in a variety of clinics. She spent two years working as a rural GP in Western Victoria. She worked at Prahran Market Clinic for three years, and at the Victorian AIDS Council for one year. Pauline joined the Northside team in May 2010.
Pauline has dedicated her career to gay, lesbian and transgender health. She has a special interest in HIV medicine and is a registered S100 prescriber. She performs minor surgical procedures including skin cancer removal and suturing, and fracture management.
She is an active member and ex Co-Convenor of the Australian Lesbian Medical Association, and provides training for rural GP registrars in gay and lesbian health. Pauline is a member of the International AIDS society, the Australian Society for HIV medicine, and the Australian and New Zealand Professional Association for Transgender Health, ANZPATH

Dr Danielle Stewart
Dr Danielle Stewart
Dani graduated in medicine at the University of Melbourne in 1996 and then worked for 12 years in the Northern Territory. In that time her medical interests focussed on indigenous health, women's health and sexual assault forensic medicine. She also worked for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) and as a Senior Lecturer in General Practice at Flinders University and James Cook University. She has run training for doctors and nurses in lesbian sexual health and has designed hospital programs, produced a DVD and presented at conferences on the topic of doctor self-care.
She has been a consulting editor for the Journal of Complementary Medicine and done training in nutritional medicine. She is a member of the Australian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and a long-time member of the Australian Lesbian Medical Association. She is an accredited provider of antenatal shared care and has an interest in fertility/infertility (including for lesbians), pregnancy care and general women's health issues. She has enjoyed becoming a mum in 2010.

Osteopath
Dr Stephen Morgan: Stephen is a registered osteopath based in the inner north of Melbourne. He holds a BSc (Clinical Science) and a MHSC (Osteopathy) from Victoria University and is also a member of the Australian Osteopathy Association.
Stephen has been practicing as an osteopath since 2001, seven of those years at the Carlton Clinic before relocating to the Northside Clinic. He is available for consultations five days per week at Northside, including Saturday mornings. He also works sessionally at Kew.
Stephen specialises in back pain, neck pain and postural complaints, particularly those arising from computer use and sports injuries.
Stephen welcomes patients from all backgrounds, in particular catering to members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.
Other interests include traveling and visual art. Stephen is also a director of the Ross Watson Gallery.

Practice Manager

Peter Locke has been working with the PLWHA and the GLBTIQ communities since 1995. His experience includes working in sexual health / GLBTIQ clinics including 229 Oxford Street Clinic in Darlinghurst, Carlton Clinic and currently Northside Clinic. He has previously worked as an employment consultant assisting PLWHA/Hep C re-train and re-enter the workforce. Peter enjoys creating and maintaining an environment where patients are able to express their sexuality and gender without judgement and receive the quality health care services they deserve.

Practice Nurse

Lisa Millett started nursing in 1990 and has nursing experience in hospital, community health and general practice settings, most recently at Carlton Clinic. Lisa's role at Northside Clinic includes vaccinations, wound care, managing the recall and reminder system and providing triage assistance and general assessment. Lisa recently attained her Certificate in Sexual Health and Reproduction which included specific training inHIV and Hepatitis C Pre and Post Test counselling and doing Pap Smears. She has an interest in Lesbian and Women's health and enjoys the diverse range of patients she meets at Northside Clinic.

Reception Staff

Andrew Hawkins, our Senior Receptionist (not oldest!) comes from a strong customer service background. After training in horticulture, Andrew worked in the public service and car rental industry in Sydney before moving to Melbourne and joining Carlton Clinic in 2001. Apart from keeping our reception desk operating smoothly, Andrew co-ordinates the clinic's Midsumma Carnival Stall and manages the Absolutely Fabulous Op Shop {also} collection point here at Northside Clinic.

Marion Densley has a background in both Medical Reception and Aged Care Services. Marion has worked in a variety of medical practice settings including Hospitals, General Practice (most recently Carlton Clinic) and Specialist rooms. Marion has previously operated her own small business and enjoys building strong customer relationships. Marion's Quoit throwing exploits have taken her across Australia and now she has the world to conquer!

Natasha Comazzetto joins us after working in medical reception at a large general practice on Phillip Island. Tash enjoys trying to maintain a ridiculous exercise regimen and chocolate cookies. She keeps Marion young and Andrew on edge.

| Cheryl Missen has worked in medical administration in General Practice for 8 years. Prior to this she worked in aged care as a home help care worker and as a respite care worker. Cheryl's achievements include winning awards for raising cockatieles and customer service in the hospitality industry. We are pleased to have her with us to share these qualities and bird raising tips. |

Charles Fenech has previous medical reception experience in Podiatry specialist rooms. Prior to this he has over 20 years of customer service experience in a variety of roles. (It was child labour!) He is a musician / DJ and enjoys working within the gay community. See Charles for waiting room music requests. |

Max Rex has returned to work full time at the Northside Clinic after taking a year out to explore other opportunities. Max has a strong work history in customer service and enjoyed working at Northside Clinic so much he returned for more. Who can blame him?

Pathology and Clinical Support

Lee Visser fulfills a number of vital roles at Northside Clinic. These include (but are not limited to) after hours pathology collection, auditing pathology tests and incoming results, stocking rooms with medical supplies, undertaking general repairs, gardening and whatever other odd jobs that happen to arise while he is around. His background as a Pathology Lab Scientist, his experience working at Carlton Clinic and his volunteer commitments supporting the HIV positive community make him an invaluable addition to the Northside Clinic team.

Clinical Trials Nurses
|
Sian Edwards has been working as a nurse in HIV care for 23 years. Her experience includes both HIV clinical nursing and educational roles. Sian is originally from the UK but her first experience in HIV care was in Sydney in 1987 as a HIV community nurse specialist. On her return to the UK Sian spent many years working in number of London HIV units before spending two years in Zambia, Africa on a Home Based Care Project. Sian left her last job as HIV lecturer at Brighton University in the UK in 2007, and now lives permanently in Melbourne.

Rachel Liddle has been nursing 19 years. During this time she has a wide range of nursing experience in areas including mental health, sexual health, and most recently she has worked at the Alfred hospital in the Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Dept. where she was coordinating the clinical trials in HIV and Hepatitis co-infection. She completed postgraduate training from the Sydney Sexual Health Centre as she worked in Sydney for a number of years before moving to Melbourne and joining the team at the Alfred. Rachel joined the Northside Clinic team in 2010.
